My new DSLR (Canon 1000D)

I have been using a Canon Powershot S3 IS for more than two years and it is a GREAT camera and there is no doubt about it. I always wanted to have a SLR. It was not possible when I was in Srilanka as I could not afford to buy one. Now I’m in Singapore and can afford to buy one with my Bonus money (Thanks for my company. J!!!).

I decided to go for DSLR and confused with which one to go (definitely my choice was CANON). I discussed with my friends and some Photography lovers.They all suggested me going for at least Canon 500D or Nikon D5000 which are very good entry level cameras( Oops… they are bit expensive for me). After a (Serious…) thought I decided to go for Canon 1000D (Of cause, because it was the cheapest). I bought it from a Guy who was looking for a buyer for his used one. It had only 2 months warranty so it was well enough to convince my mind and I went for IT. He (The original owner) was a nice guy and gave me a good offer (SD660 – Kit I with 4GB card, Canon bag)

Here I ‘m a DSLR owner and learning to shoot. The photos around this post are taken with my new (he he… it’s a used) DSLR.I started to lend some Photography books from Library to learn about SLR cameras, lens and techniques of using Aperture and Shutter Speed. My wife was about to faint seeing me with Books, ha ha ha…

Please don’t shout if a man wearing Short and a Hat trying to shoot you when you were relaxing on a river side alone. It would be ME….

A day at MacRitchie Reservoir Park

We planed to spend a day (Saturday 2nd of 2010) out and decided to go to the

MacRitchie Reservoir Park, specially for the tree top walk. The Reservoir is at Along Lornie Road
and the nearest MRT is Marymount which is in a Circle Line. We stay at lake side so we took the East West MRT from lakeside Station(Green Line) and got down in Cityhall Station interchange to take the North South MRT.We got down in Bishan Station and took the Circle Line MRT and got down at Marymout Station. Then we walked towards the Upper Thomson Road to take Bus which stops near to Island Club Road. We got down there and walked through the car park to get into the Reservoir.

ture lovers and photographers.You will feel that you were in a deep forest when you walk thought some places.

One of the other best is the Tree Top Walk.The total length is about 250m and height from the forest floor around 25m.We can experience good views. It's a different experience which we would not get in other places. Its maintained by HSBC so it called as HSBC Tree Top Walk as well. Once you start walking you can not go backward as it'll disturb others. The rule is to go always forward. So even if someone feels uncomfortable of the heights, has to walk forward with eyes closed ha ha ha...

There are lots of relaxing spots where we can just sit, relax and enjoy the view and calmness.Just sitting there and enjoying views and the birds playing with water will relax our mind and make feel good.
